Welcome to our website.....
Our school is an integral part of St Brigid’s Parish. Catholic values and traditions are taught in a formal religious education program and are a guide for all that we do throughout the school.
Our core task is education. Our staff devotes their classroom time to the tasks of teaching and learning.
While we strive to work in partnership with our families, we recognise that parents are the first and prime educators of their children. It is certainly our privilege to work with you and to share the responsibilities of educating your children and helping them to prepare for the future.
We hope that you will experience a sense of warmth and welcome, and that there will be a rich sharing of ideas, talents and enthusiasm as together we go about the work of helping our children to learn and grow.

Community Connections: It is important for the teachers, children and parents to build a sense of connection and partnership, especially during these first weeks of the year. When parents and schools work together, our students find it easier to know what is expected; parents understand how they can get support when it is needed and there is a feeling of being better informed about what is happening. At St John’s this week there are two events that are part of this partnership.
On Monday evening, our Year 1 to 6 staff will be following on the success of last weeks Kindergarten parent / teacher conversations, with the information sessions in the classrooms. Year 1 & 2 will be at 5:30, Year 3 & 4 at 6:00pm and Year 5 & 6 at 6:30pm. Our Parent Information Evenings provide an excellent point of connection. The evenings provide parents with an understanding of how classroom operate; clarity about communication with their child’s teacher; how homework will work this year; information about important events and a chance to ask questions as well as meet their child’s teacher. I strongly encourage you to attend as a first step in helping to build a strong home and school connection.
On Tuesday evening our next P&F meeting will be held in the staffroom from 7:00pm. This meeting is also the AGM, and the P&F hope you will be able to attend and contribute in what ever way you can. I am very fortunate that each year the P&F have been an active and integral part of the school team. The P&F is much more than fundraising. I often seek advice and input on important matters that effect the governance of the school. For example, SJP always has a member of the P&F executive on panels for staffing appointments. I know you will be made to feel very welcome.
